Christchurch - Hotel SO


Want to give winter the cold shoulder? In New Zealand the weather is still good. And what’s more, it seems to be a top destination if you want more for less.

Air New Zealand just unveiled the first lie-down economy bed. And Hotel SO was named the Best Superior Hotel in New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. With a room price of only 35 euro (single room) ($ 69 NZ).

Rooms at SO are architecturally designed with fresh colours, sweeping curves and clean lines. And include smart features like free wireless broadband, controllable mood lighting and a flat screen entertainment system.

For 2010 SO charges into eco-friendly solutions: Anyone with an electric car can plug their vehicle in for free overnight at the hotel. And they are planning a wind turbine on the roof too.

Helsinki - Hotel Helka


In two years Helsinki is going to be the World Design Capital 2012. So if you are a design lover you just have to go there. But who wants to bump into hords of tourists when on holiday. So better go this summer, when Helsinki is still a bit undiscovered.
